Bridge Precedent

Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge

Clearance below300 m
Height360 m (1,180 ft)
Opened in August 20, 2016

To build the bridge, engineers erected 4 support pillars on the edges of the walls of the canyon. The bridge is made of a metal frame with more than 120 glass panels. Each of these panels is 3-layered and is a 2-inch-thick slab of tempered glass. There are 3 long swings attached to the underside of the bridge. Also there is a provision for making a 285 metres (935 ft) bungee-jump. This is considered to be highest such jump in the world.[3]

ARCH 1101 Wk 2 Stairs - SketchUp and Tutorial sections

Khyzyl (client 1) Stairs

With this set of stairs, I intended on remaining loyal to the futuristic and extremely contemporary design that the artist displays in his works. Utilising multiple platforms elevated from the ground by movable supports, I have captured an unconventional yet evocative expression of the client's space.

Mountain and Moon (Client 2) Stairs

For this design, I aimed to recreate the experience of a gradual and calm summit, contrasting the highly unconventional design and aesthetic of the stairs for client 1. Like other 'shop' stairs, these steps accentuate the space around it, providing both a sitting area and scaling path.
